Arthritis Home Remedies - How to Get Rid of Arthritis


Arthritis is a group of conditions where there is damage caused to the joints of the body. Arthritis is complex disorder that comprises more than 100 distinct conditions and can affect people at any stage of life. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in people over the age of 55. There are over 100 types of arthritis and rheumatic diseases including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia. There are many forms of arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis are autoimmune diseases in which the body is attacking. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection . Gouty arthritis is caused by deposition of uric acid crystals in the joint that results in subsequent inflammation. Forty-six million Americans report that a doctor told them they have arthritis or other rheumatic conditions. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States, limiting the activities of nearly 19 million adults

There is no evidence that cracking your knuckles causes such damage. Additionally, there is a less common form of gout that is caused by the formation of needle shaped crystals of calcium pyrophosphate. This form of gout is known as pseudogout. Elements of the history of the pain (onset, number of joints and which involved, duration, aggravating and relieving factors). Radiographs are often used to follow progression or assess severity in a more quantitative manner. Many people associate cracking joints with arthritis; however, there is no evidence to support such an association. A joint is an area where two or more bones meet. Home Remedies for Arthritis

  • Wrap red flannel gently around painful joint and leave it overnight for Arthritis.
  • Gentle massage with warm olive oil is very effective to relieve arthritis pain.
  • For arthritis cure dilute Garlic, Juniper, Lavender, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, or Sassafras oils in the proportions of one part to 10 parts of olive oil and use it to massage the painful joints for immediate relief.
  • Given a lukewarm enema for a few days to cleanse the bowels, as the first step to prevent arthritis is to relieve constipation.
  • Cold baths and cold sprays, should be avoided in arthritis.
  • Calcium, zinc and vitamin C is recommended in arthritis cure.
  • Fresh juice extracted from potatoes and diluted with water on 50:50 bases for arthritis.
  • Rub the aching joints with hot vinegar before going to bed to cure arthritis.
  • Dandelion leaf has diuretic quality that increases output from the kidneys, while its root is a mild laxative and liver tonic that enhances bowel movement and helps in arthritis.
  • Circulation around the joints can be improved through tissue-cleansing properties of essential oils, of Juniper, Cypress and Lemon, whereas oils of Lavender, Rosemary and Chamomile have mild analgesic and high anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Take four peeled pieces of garlic, and two grams of sprague. Powder both and dip in 30 grams of mustard oil and heat slowly. Massage daily with this oil on pains as this helps in arthritis treatment.
  • Take 10 grams of camphor and 200 grams of mustard oil. Mix in a glass bottle and close with a tight cork and keep the bottle in the sun till the camphor dissolves. Massage the affected area daily.
  • Epsom salt (4 tbsp) should be added to bathing water, to reduce inflammation and stiffness of joints.
  • Drink some radish juice and sugar as therapeutic measure.
  • Apple cider vinegar has been used in various ways to help arthritis sufferers.
  • Bananas, being a rich source of vitamin B6, have proved useful in the treatment of arthritis.
  • Lime has also been found beneficial as a home remedy for arthritis.
  • Using Green Gram Soup. This soup should be prepared by mixing a tablespoon of green gram in a cup of water, with two crushed garlic cloves. It should betaken twice a day
  • Warm coconut oil or mustard oil, mixed with two or three pieces of camphor should be massaged on stiff and aching joints.
