Rheumatism Home Remedies - How to Get Rid of Rheumatism

Palindromic rheumatism is characterized by sudden and recurrent attacks of painful swelling of the joints and surrounding tissues. Attacks may last for several days or just a few hours. Between attacks, pain and swelling completely disappear. There are many medicines that can help people with RA, but often they have side-effects. Simple painkillers and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen are effective in some people. Exercise is important for keeping joints supple, strong and mobile and this includes joints affected by osteoarthritis. Do wear soft-soled footwear that will act as a shock-absorber for your joints. Do stop exercising if you feel any pain and don't exercise if you feel unwell.

Home Remedies for Rheumatism

  • Minerals like calcium and magnesium, vitamin C should be included in the diet as these nutrients enhance the process of healing.

  • Mix camphor, methyl salicylate, eucalyptus oil and menthol to make a rubbing mixture for aches and pains.
  • Mix fresh carrot juice with equal parts of lemon juice. Take one large spoonful everyday.
  • Take one tablespoon of fresh limejuice in two tablespoons of water at night and morning.
  • Make a rub by mixing 1 oz. of oil of wintergreen, 3 oz. chloroform, and 12 oz. of rubbing alcohol. Rub the mixture on the affected areas.
  • Mix three lemons and three tablespoons Epsom salts in one pint of warm water and take one-teaspoon in the morning and one at night. Good Home Remedy for Rheumatism Arthritis.
